STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s that time of the year again for the best show in town to make its annual debut.

The Mississippi State University (MSU) Summer Scholars onstage production is gearing up with another crowd-pleasing performance. This year’s performance marks the 32nd year for the camp.

The 3-week camp brings together gifted and talented students in grades 7-12 to write, produce and star in a musical comedy. This year’s production titled “Partlynormal Activity” tells the story of an old Boston hotel named The Underwood, which is hunted by ghosts, murder and mayhem.

Camp directors say they are certain it will be an unforgettable experience for both staff and campers.

“This is one of the most collaborative efforts that anyone involved with it is going to be a part of — from the kids writing the script for the 3-act musical comedy, to it being produced, and the director getting his hands in it, and the choreographers and the musicians,” Script Coordinator Eric Fritzius said.

Campers will perform “Partlynormal Activity” 7 p.m. July 25 and 1 p.m. July 26 in McCommus Hall located at MSU.

Admission is free and open to the public.
