MOOREVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The parents of Mooreville Middle School students received some encouraging news Monday night. The school district is moving forward with plans to construct a new building to replace the old structure that is aging. Superintendent Jimmy Weeks says 1-point-one million dollars has been budgeted for the project which he says will really be an improvement.

“Well the building they are currently using built in the late sixties early seventies. They building was just worse for wear so we felt like it would be a wise use of the money to demolish that building and put back a more up to date facility that could be used with a new office suite and more up to date classrooms and things of that nature.”

Weeks says they are now accepting bids for the new Middle school project. They hope to have it built in time for the 2015-2016 school year. This year the students have been moved to other temporary classrooms.
