Video: Thieves Make off With Thousands of Dollars Worth of Tires

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo business is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of thieves who stole a truck, trailer and more than forty thousand dollars worth of truck tires.

Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, someone stole large truck tires, an 18 wheeler truck and a trailer from the Southern Tire Mart store on Airpark Road.

These are photos of the stolen truck and examples of some of the tires that were taken.Managers say the tires were outside, in back of the property and whomever stole the tires, also broke into the truck, stole it and disabled the GPS.

Store managers say they have already made changes to how they store inventory.For example, all large tires are now locked up.

“You know, we’ve learned a very expensive lesson, that, we’ve always, we were in a good part of the community, we’ve never had anything come up gone, it’s been a real blessing for us to be able to go the way we have for so many years, but I see now we just can’t assume that anymore.”

Southern Tire Mart is offering a 25 hundred dollar reward to anyone with information on this crime.
