Video: Third Sentence Handed Down in West Point Murder Case

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The third family member involved in the West Point stabbing death of 27-year-old Marcus Payne has been convicted. 27-year-old Latwanna Roby pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter yesterday, following her cousin Natisha Roby’s 20-year sentence the same day for second degree murder.

Latwanna was arrested in 2012 in connection to the stabbing death, along with Natisha and Shunbrinca Roby. Shunbrinca was convicted in April for murder, and was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole. Latwanna was sentenced on one count of manslaughter to 20 years with Mississippi Department of Corrections, with the possibility of parole after 10 years, and a $1,000 fine.
