Video: Tishomingo County Exploring Additional Local Tax on Alcohol Sales

TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Tishomingo County supervisors take the first steps to possibly add a two cent tax on alcohol sales. The resolution was agreed on this morning.
Before paperwork can be sent to the legislature, county leaders must decide how the money would be spent. The man behind the idea, Charles Aldridge, wants the money to help kids.
However, supervisors must narrow how the extra tax will benefit children.The county will have to to send paperwork to the state legislature. If approved by lawmakers, voters in Tishomingo County will decide if the tax will be added. The vote could be as early as 2015.
