COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) Thousands of rubber ducks raced to the finish Saturday afternoon at the Great Tombigbee Duck Race in Columbus. Ducks could be purchased for a chance to win cash and prizes at the Columbus Riverwalk. Proceeds from the event went to Columbus-Lowndes Habitat for Humanity. Donations from Saturday’s race will go towards administrative expenses so all future contributions can go directly towards building homes for needy families. John Reed was the lucky winner Saturday and received 5,000 dollars after his duck crossed the finish line first.
