WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Helping children in need have a brighter holiday. That was the driving force behind a toy drive Tuesday afternoon in West Point. Sponsored by the Farm Bureau Office of Adam Watson, the radio hosts of Super Talk Mississippi, and all of those who donated, the children at Sally Kate Winters will have Christmas gifts under the tree.

Sally Kate Winters Family Services houses children who’ve been removed from abusive household. While their work is 365 days a year, additional help is always welcomed.

“During Christmas, we can see a rise in stressful situations with financial issues and family issues and that can contribute to children being neglected during the holiday season. We want to combat that and provide happy memories for children in our area,” says Sally Kate Winters Coordinator Heather Usry.

The Sally Kate Winters home is currently caring for nine children, between the ages of three months and 18-years old.
