Video: Trash Prices Raised in Itawamba County

ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-County residents in Itawamba County will be shelling out a few more dollars to have their trash collected.

The Itawamba County Board of Supervisors increased curbside garbage 30 percent jumping the $10 dollar monthly fee to $13 dollars.

The sanitation’s increased costs in personnel and maintenance have been making it difficult for the department to break even at $12,000 dollars a month in revenue.

This is the first price increase in more than 12 years, and will help bring in an estimated $13,900 dollars to help cover costs.
