Video: Truck Driver Hospitalized After 18 Wheeler Collision

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -A truck driver is recovering in a Tupelo hospital after big rigs collide in Calhoun County this afternoon.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the crash happened about 2:20, on Highway 341.

Troopers say 32 year-old Ishmael Omisaye of Oakdale, Minnesota pulled out from County Road 462.

That’s when a southbound 18-wheeler, driven by 49 year-old Kenneth Truss of Kosciusko, hit the other truck.

“The potato truck did not stop, pulled out in front of the log truck and he hit him,” said Frederick Reese. “When I got up close, the man that was driving the potato truck was saying, ‘Help me, help me.’ We helped him get out of the truck.”

Omisaye was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center with head injuries.Truss was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
