TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo leaders brainstorm about how the city should rebuild after the April 28th tornado. North Gloster Street business owners met at the Community Development Foundation this evening.

Everything from designs to tax incentives were discussed to get everyone on the same page. The north Gloster business district was hard hit by the EF-3 twister. In fact, several destroyed by the storm. City officials wanted to hear from owners, so they can help them quickly rebuild.

“I have not heard of anyone that’s planning on packing up and leaving,” said Mayor Jason Shelton. “There have been, I have heard things of you know we are going to build back something different or you know not exactly how they were. So that’s part of what tonight’s about too, get to know those business owners.”

He went on to say this is an opportunity to rebrand and develop the area.
