TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo’s Outback restaurant reopened this afternoon.

It was damaged in last week’s tornado.

The north Gloster restaurant had roof damage, and the air conditioning unit was destroyed. There was also some minor damage inside.

Renovations began working right away, and employees even pitched in.

The support we received has been absolutely phenomenal and the city of Tupelo has been amazing, with all volunteers coming around and helping, we never had to buy lunch, or work out details in midst of all tragedy, people were walking around handing out food, bottled water, it was really something,” Proprietor Jonathan Waller said.

Employees were able to continue working at the local restaurant, or at a Jackson Outback.
