LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — She’s led the Salvation Army’s way through disasters in Tupelo and beyond.

Maj. Sue Dorman is now heading off to a new assignment to Florence, Ala. after eight years in Tupelo.

Dorman has overseen the expansion of the Angel Christmas Tree program, the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, and she has been instrumental in a campaign to double the size of the Red Shield Lodge.

Dorman said she will miss the people of the area.

“This is a community that cares, this is a community that has given — that’s a big part,” Dorman said. “Work will be the same, just in a different place.”

Taking over in Tupelo will be a husband and wife team. Majors Jeff and LInda Daniels have served in Ardmore, Okla.
