TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo and Seaport Airlines are beginning conversations about a transition to the city’s new airline.

Seaport officials say that pending final approval by federal agencies, they hope to be up and running at Tupelo Regional Airport in October.

The Tupelo airport board picked Seaport Tuesday night over Air Choice One. Seaport’s experience and price were among the deciding factors.

The company and airport already have begun discussing employees, marketing and other issues.

Silver Airways is under order to continue service to Tupelo until Aug. 7, but that could be extended.
