Video: Tupelo Voters Face Friday Deadline to Register

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Tupelo residents wanting to cast a ballot in the April 28th School Bond Referendum face a looming deadline. Friday (March 27th) is the last day for those who haven’t registered to vote to do so.

If passed, the proposed forty-four million dollar bond program will fund renovations and security and lighting upgrades to every school in the district.Absentee voting on the measure began Thursday. Those wanting to vote absentee must be sixty-five or older, have a physical disability, or be out of the district on voting day.

Absentee balloting continues until Noon on April 25th. The Election is slated for Tuesday April 28th. The bond will need 60 percent majority to pass.
