Video: United Way Hosts Day Of Caring In West Point

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI)-Clay County employees from local businesses and manufacturing plants spent the day serving throughout West Point.

Southern Ionics, The West Point School District and Yokohama were among the volunteers.

Some volunteers spent their day raking yards at the Sally Kate Winters home while other spent time with dogs at the West Point and Clay County Animal Shelter.

The Day of Caring hosted by United Way in Clay County.

One Volunteer says it’s important to show the community that they care.

“We are a part of the community our company is a part of the community and it’s so important that we get involved. The United Way can’t exist unless they have our support and this is just a small way of giving back,” says Jan Harris.

A luncheon was held for the volunteers.
