COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Columbus volunteers weren’t the only ones out cleaning up in Dr. King’s honor.

The Volunteer of Starkville and the Maroon Volunteer Center, teamed up with the staff at the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge to help beautify the visitors center.

Thirty volunteers were busy raking, weeding and making mulch.

One volunteer says it’s not too late to serve in your community this holiday weekend.

“Find an opportunity and take it whether it’s just going out and helping somebody cleaning up your neighborhood helping a stranger just finding a way to make your community better,” says Jonathan Reeves.

Those volunteers finished the clean-up around 2pm Saturday afternoon.
