Video: Walmart Neighborhood Market Opens in Nettleton

NETTLETON, Miss. (WCBI) — The world’s largest retailer has expanded its presence in northeast Mississippi.

This morning, hundreds turned out in Nettleton for the grand opening of a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The new store is 12,000 square feet and offers produce, food items, a pharmacy and gas station.

The neighborhood market employs 35 people and officials say it will help the local economy and give consumers more of a choice when shopping.

“It’s going to really be a big boost to our tax base and we are really excited about having it,” Nettleton Mayor Jimmy Taylor said. “I think everybody in town is going to support it.”

A Walmart Neighborhood Market also opened in Mantachie this morning.
