ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI) — The consolidation of two schools leads to some principal shifts at Lowndes County schools. West Lowndes Middle School principal Cynthia McMath has been named principal at West Lowndes High. The middle and high schools are merging this fall and still will have only about 200 students in grades 7 through 12.

Charles Jackson, who was principal at West Lowndes High, will lead Lowndes County’s new alternative school which will operate in the West Lowndes middle building.

The county previously  contracted with Columbus city schools to provide alternative school services.
