Video: West Point Honors Veterans Through Several Programs

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — West Point had three different Veterans Day tributes today, starting with the high school’s annual event sponsored by the Junior ROTC.

In addition to music from the school’s band and choir, guest speaker Dwight Dyess, the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Mississippi, saluted the men and women who have served their country.

Later, West Point Board of Selectmen Attorney and Marine Corp. veteran Orlando Richmond spoke of the duty of service during the city’s veterans ceremony.

Air Force veteran Ben Gibson and Navy veteran Gailon Young were named the community’s veterans of the year.
