WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – A leaky roof is never good. But when it’s on a 105-year-old building, it’s even worse. West Point selectmen have approved application for a $100,000.00 state Archives and History grant to repair leaks on the city’s historic city hall. Without the repairs, leaks that are beginning to cause water problems in city hall offices will only get worse.

“What we got is a deterioration of the cornice work on the top edge of the building and the edge of the roof structure up there. We are getting some moisture penetration in the walls and we want to stop that.”

The city hopes to find out about the grant this summer.
