WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — Winona’s animal advocacy group wants to turn a city storage shed on North Union Street into a shelter for stray dogs and cats picked up by animal control.

The current shelter isn’t large enough. The groups are studying the cost of converting the building.

The storage shed currently holds the city’s Christmas decorations.
