WINONA, Miss. (WCBI)-Winona Christian School hopes to be back to normal by next spring as repairs and renovations begin following a devastating fire six weeks ago. The school’s gym and cafeteria were heavily damaged by an electrical fire October 22nd. Instead of rebuilding a combination gym and cafeteria, the school has started construction on a new, separate cafeteria. Meanwhile, crews are starting work this week on renovating the gym. That includes a new roof, walls electrical wiring and lighting. A new floor also must be installed. It also should be completed by February or March. While the work is under way, the school’s basketball teams are playing their games at the old Vaiden High School gym in Vaiden.
