Video: War On Aquatic Weeds On Hold

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-As the summer season quickly arrives the war on aquatic weeds for the time being is dead. Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would be out in their airboats dealing with the weeds as well as maintaining campgrounds, boat ramps, and day-use areas. But due to the fire that broke out in the barn on 750 Old West Point Road on March 20th Corps’ can do nothing but wait for new supplies. The fire broke out at a barn that housed approximately $350,000 dollars worth of equipment. By the time firefighters arrived on scene it was a total loss. The local office is responsible for maintaining 234 miles of the Tenn-Tom’s navigational channel.
