A cold front is moving through today which will make for a wet commute for some. Rain will continue to move in from the west northwest and track eastward across northeast MS and west AL as the day wears. Temperatures will hover in the 60s for much of the day.
Today: On and off showers will be the case throughout the rest of the day as the cold front continues to slip through the Magnolia state. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 60s and possibly as high as 70. Some locations may see rainfall totals between 0.5″ to 1″ of rain by the time the rain moves on out. Otherwise it will be cloudy, dreary and damp.
Thursday: Showers will be possible during the morning hours but I expect skies to clear by the afternoon. Highs should be mainly in the 60s but some low 70s are possible if we manage enough sunshine. Lows Thursday night will be in the mid 40s.
Friday: Quiet conditions will be present as the work week comes to a close. Highs will be in the low 70s. Jackets will be required for high school football as temperatures cool after sunset.
Weekend: An upper level disturbance will produce some rain in the region on Saturday. The current thinking is that most of it will fall in central and southern MS but we’ll include at least a 20% for our area for now. Mostly sunny skies are expected on Sunday along with seasonable temperatures in the 70s.
