This Morning: Some clouds will be around with some patchy fog. Morning lows will be in the upper 50s.
Wednesday: Another warm day is in order under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Afternoon highs near 80 still look reasonable courtsey of a southerly breeze between 5 and 15 mph.
A tornado drill will take place at 9:15 a.m. across the entire state of Mississippi. Don’t be alarmed if you hear sirens, it’s only a TEST.
Halloween: All signs point to an active day in the region as a cold front moves on through. A line of showers and storms should approach our western counties by the late morning and it will continue moving eastward across the rest of the area during the afternoon and evening. The setup isn’t perfect for a widespread severe weather outbreak but strong wind gusts and a tornado or two are possible. In addition, heavy rainfall in the order of 1 to 2 inches may fall in some spots. Be sure to be weather ready and have an indoor backup plan for trick-or-treating this year.
Friday: A few showers may linger during the morning but skies will clear by the afternoon. Highs will top out in the mid 70s.
Weekend: Plan on wall to wall sunshine along with seasonably cool temperatures. Don’t forget to set your clock back 1 hour at 2 a.m. Sunday when we go back on standard time.
