TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo’s newest citizens have their questions answered at a special open house.

Representatives from all city departments were on hand to talk to residents who were recently annexed. People had a variety of questions, but utilities were a top concern. “Mostly the folks are interested in when they are going to get water and sewer services and we have a schedule of how that’s all going to come into play so we’re getting that information out to the homeowners,” says Johnny Timmons of Tupelo Light and Water.

Tmmons adds there are 1200 houses that will need to be connected to city water and sewer services.  Work on that project should start early next year.
