WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Thanksgiving is still two weeks away, but a West Point church prepared a traditional feast to share with neighbors Wednesday.

Dozens of volunteers not only prepared, but delivered meals for several hours.

After deliveries, volunteers gathered at the church for prayer, then opened the doors and served anyone who needed a hot meal.

Organizer Alma Turner Brown says her church wants the elderly, disabled, and other shut-ins to know they care year-round. “Thanksgiving is time where you give. Thanksgiving is everyday but this time of the year we give back.”

Last year, the church fed close to three thousand people.
