West Point Market Efforts Pick Up Steam

Billboard that will be going up in West Point.

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Drivers in West Point soon will be greeted by a new message when they travel on busy Highway 45 Alternate.

And city officials hope it’s a step to bringing more business to town. Next month, two billboards will go up promoting West Point’s downtown and the Howlin’ Wolf Museum.

It’s part of a broader marketing effort that will include more directional signs on the town’s two busy state roads, TV and radio campaigns, a new web site and improved downtown store fronts and landscaping.

The plans by the Main Street Association and Chamber of Commerce are funded in part by new tourism revenues.
