WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — One local police department is helping residents get rid of unwanted prescription drugs.

West Point police participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back event, Saturday.

The Drug Enforcement Agency sponsored the event, as a way for residents to discard outdated or unwanted prescription medication.

The DEA has also hosted seven take-back days over the last four months, and has taken in nearly 400 pills.
