Temporary Road Closure due to Railroad Crossing Repair Work on Highway 45A in Clay County

WHO:                 The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Kansas City Southern (KCS).

WHAT:              MDOT will temporarily close the northern railroad crossing on Highway 45A to allow KCS a safe area to repair the rails and repave the crossing. The detour is a 31 mile route along Highway 50, Highway 45 and Highway 82. Detour signage will be in place to guide traffic.

WHERE:           Between Churchill Road and Highway 50 on Highway 45A in West Point, Miss.

WHEN:              From 8 p.m. on Monday, December 16 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, all lanes of Highway 45A will remain closed. Crews will then begin alternating lane closures at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and will continue until all lanes at the crossing are paved.
