WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — West Point could have a new look for drivers approaching from miles around.

The city has awarded a $254,000 contract to Arkansas-based Leher Painting to clean and paint inside and out the old Bryan Foods water tower to get it ready to use again.

City officials haven’t decided what color to paint the tower yet but some have suggested green to match the color of the city’s high school football team.

A mural also likely will be painted on the tower, which can be seen from as far away as Highway 82.

The work should take about 90 days once it starts next month.
