WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Some residents in West Point came out bright and early Saturday morning to get an update on some changes happening in their city.

Selectman William Binder of Ward Two hosted the the town hall meeting which also included Mayor Robbie Robinson and other city department heads.

They discussed Yokohama Tire’s impact on the community from jobs to the new water system the company will need.

Leaders also talked about efforts to improve West Point’s image and update blighted properties.

“West Point is one of the cities without a bypass so people have to drive through here. So we’re just giving the people an update on being transparent about what we’ve been doing,” says Binder.

West Point holds their regular board meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
