Video: West Point Woman Pleads Guilty to Forgery, Fraudulent Use of ID

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — A West Point woman who was charged with stealing from the Churchill Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has pleaded guilty to several charges.

Jennifer Hamby pleaded guilty to forgery, fraudulent use of ID and false pretense Jan. 13. Judge James Kitchens accepted Hamby’s plea Wednesday at the Clay County Circuit Court.

Hamby reportedly used another individuals debit card at Walmart, Sun Beauty Salon and Dirt Cheap. Hamby also made off with $33,678 from the Churchill PTA after forging a bank employee’s signature.

She still owes the PTA upward of $16,000. Her father paid half of the $33,678 she illicitly obtained.

Hamby’s sentencing date has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 10 at the Clay County Circuit Court.
