LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Louisville residents from 16 different churches joined together at South Louisville Baptist Church to celebrate and worship how far they’ve come since the EF-4 tornado that ripped through the community.

The event opened with singing followed by the reading of the ten lives that were lost six months ago in the April 28th tornado.

Family members stood when their loved ones’ names were called and a candle was lit in their honor.

The head pastor says the celebration helps the community become one.

“Christians come together to praise and worship Him tonight so it’s just…sometimes we get segregated here and there because of out beliefs but the main belief is we love the Lord that’s what it’s about tonight giving glory for what he’s done for this community,” says Pastor Trent Laudon.

A short message was preached after the names were called.
