Winston County Sets Up Fund For Cash Donations

WINSTON COUNTY, MS) — A non-profit relief fund is seeking donations to help residents in Winston County, MS, after an EF4 tornado took 10 lives, injured dozens and left thousands of local residents in need of assistance

The relief organization is the Winston County Tornado Relief Fund. They are currently asking for donations which can be made at the website WinstonStrong.com.

“Our thoughts and sympathy are with all those impacted by this horrific tornado,” says Linda Skelton, Winston County Chamber of Commerce Director. “We are here to help support and pick up the pieces and that is why the tornado relief fund has been established.”

The Winston County Tornado Relief fund has been established through the Winston County Economic Development District Partnership which the Chamber of Commerce is a part. The WinstonStrong.com fund is a tax deductible donation and donations may be made online at winstonstrong.com or mailed to WinstonStrong Tornado Relief Fund Renasant Bank, P.O. Box 389 Louisville, MS, 39339. Make checks payable to Winston County Community Development Relief Fund.

A select committee is overseeing the investment of the funds for the best response and rebuilding of Winston County.

 

“All the donations provided to this fund will help Winston County residents recover from the EF4 tornado,” added Skelton. “We remain WinstonStrong but with our neighbors help we will be stronger.”
