CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) — A Caledonia woman is killed and three other people injured in a head on crash this afternoon.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says 76-year-old Lois Frances Honnoll died when her Toyota Camry collided with a pick up truck at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Wolfe Road between Wright and McCullough roads. She was northbound and the truck was southbound.

Two passengers in her car and the driver of the truck were taken to Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital for treatment. Mrs. Honnoll, who was wearing a seat belt, was the mother of Caledonia alderman Steve Honnoll.

She apparently was on her way home to Caledonia at the time. The names of the other driver and victims have not been released.

Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
