Wright, Hester Cases Go To Appeals

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – A lawsuit involving a former principal and baseball coach is headed to the state Court of Appeals.

The court will hear oral arguments starting June 12th in the wrongful termination of former New Hope High School prinicpal Lynn Wright and baseball coach Stacy Hester

Wright and Hester were fired in 2010 by the Lowndes County School District for the purchase of a $15,000 lawn mower.

In 2012, a judge ruled Wright wrongfully terminated and awarded him $175,000 in back pay.

The judge upheld the school boards decision to terminate Hester.
