Young Artists Learn History Behind Crafts

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Some young artists and craftsmen are hard at work in Columbus this week.

More than 50 kids from ages 5 through 11 are weaving, creating their own style of monsters, and even making musical instruments as part of the Columbus Arts Council’s summer arts camps.

To make their work more lasting, the campers are learning the history behind their creations to get a better understanding of the cultural significance.

For information on future camps, visit www.columbus-arts.org.
