Countdown to Christmas: Time winds down for last-minute shipping

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Christmas is almost here so the clock is winding down for last-minute shopping and especially last-minute shipping.

Delivery drivers and shipping stations have been hustling to get gifts shipped out and delivered on time amid holiday chaos.

David Buchanan owns the UPS Store in Starkville.

He said you only have until next week to ship packages for guaranteed arrival on Christmas Day.

“Because it’s the holiday season, we want to encourage people to get their holiday packages in as early as possible. If you want to make sure that it gets there before Christmas, let’s make sure that you get it here in the store at least by next Thursday so we can guarantee it. Anytime is a great time. But it gets more expensive the closer we get to Christmas if you want to ensure it’s going to be there by Christmas,” said Buchanan.

UPS does offer next-day shipping if you’re running behind on shipping gifts.
