Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church
September 24 @ 9:00 am
Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church of West Point, MS is sponsoring Builders of Hope Golf Tournament 2019. The tournament will be held at Mossy Oak Golf Course on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 and will begin at 9 a.m.
The brain child of Trinity member and golf pro Robert “Bob” Ford, the tournament has been a topic of discussion at the church for more than a year. However, after the death of the pastor, the Reverend Edward Brown in April, 2019, the project lost momentum. Enter the Presiding Elder of the Grenada District, and acting pastor, the Reverend William Hardiman, Jr., the project was put back on the drawing board.
More than 10 teams have already signed up for the 3-Man Scramble. These teams and others will be competing for cash prizes: 1st Place – $1,500, 2nd Place – $1,000, and 3rd Place – $500 as well as trips and clothing being donated by area sponsors.
According to Ford, he has been inspired by the response that he has received from both the golfers and local businesses supporting this event. He said he is looking to field a maximum of 30 teams.
Persons interested in placing in the tournament, being involved as a volunteer, or sponsoring some part of the tournament, may contact Bob Ford at (662) 295-4201.
