Flu Season Peaks In Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – After reaching the peak of flu season, it’s all downhill from here, but health experts say the flu can still be a threat.

The Mississippi State Department of Health says flu-like illness has consistently declined over the last few weeks.

While that’s cause for a celebration, flu numbers still remain near last year’s peak.

Doctors still urge residents to get vaccinated.

In fact, children and qualifying adults can still get their vaccination for free at any of the State Department of Health’s county offices.
