When he was 5 years old, you could find him out on the front driveway in Indiana playing basketball, doing play by play commentary while he played against Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Reggie Miller. Afterwards, he would go inside, eat lunch, and head out to the front yard to play football against imaginary NFL teams that could never beat him. Now, Robby Donoho is following his dream of working in the sports broadcasting industry here in Columbus, MS at WCBI.
Robby is a 2011 graduate of Purdue University, growing up playing high school basketball in the Heartland of Hoops (that’s Indiana for those who aren’t familiar with that phrase). Originally from Noblesville, Indiana; Robby lives and breathes college sports and still remembers the first college football game he attended when he was 6 (Ohio State vs. Notre Dame). He is loyal to the Big Ten, but finally told himself: If you can’t beat them, join them. He’s ecstatic to be a part of the SEC and covering National Champion football teams for a change.
Robby arrived at WCBI in August 2011 after working with Big Ten Network, ESPNU, and interning with WLFI in West Lafayette, Indiana. He can’t wait to indulge in real southern BBQ and add the word “y’all” to his vocabulary.
