Steve was born out West in San Francisco.
He Started his television career as a talk show host and meteorologist at KVIQ TV in Eureka, CA. Stever moved on to Bakersfield, CA, then Portland, OR. . . on to Tucson, AZ, then home to San Francisco/San Jose. After five years in the bay area, Steve was offered the Chief Meteorologist position at WFLD, Fox Chicago. Steve spent seven years in the Windy City before heading back west.
Steve got the “travel bug” after leaving Chicago and bought a motorhome to explore the United States and Baja, Mexico. Steve spent several years in San Felipe, a sleepy fishing village located on the Sea of Cortez in Baja.
After fulfilling his need to “see the world,” Steve headed north and landed in Palm Springs, CA, where he re-kindled his television career. Steve started out doing weather for one of the local channels, but transitioned to News Anchor shortly thereafter.
Steve was offered a unique and exciting opportunity to do both news (Anchor) and weather at a station (WXVT) in Greenville, MS. It was just that. . .unique and exciting. . .and A LOT of work (LOL)! After fulfilling his 3 year contract, Steve reached out to WCBI and was offered a job co-hosting WCBI Sunrise with his long-time friend and former Co-anchor at WXVT, Renae Skinner. Steve’s desire to work a shortened week and WCBI’s need for an Anchor just three days a week is a marriage made in Heaven.
Steve enjoys movies, walking the River Walk, spending time on the river during the Summer and particularly enjoys baseball in the Left Field Lounge at MSU.
Steve is looking forward to a lasting relationship with the people of northeast Mississippi, eastern Alabama and with his colleagues and friends at WCBI.
Steve books guests for Sunrise and Midday. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
