Odell Hallmon is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. A judge on Wednesday ordered him held without bond in the pre-dawn shooting deaths in Montgomery County of his former girlfriend, the girlfriend’s mother, and a third man. A fourth man was shot and wounded.

The 40-year-old man had previously testified that another man confessed in jail to the 1996 shooting deaths of four people in a Winona furniture store. After three guilty verdicts were thrown out on appeal and two other trials ended with hung juries, Curtis Flowers was ultimately convicted and sentenced to death. Flowers is being held at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.
