Video: The future of OCH discussed

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- The Oktibbeha Board of Supervisors tackled a full agenda at Monday’s meeting. Among the issues was the future of OCH Regional Medical Center.

Supervisors have been trying to put together a Request for Proposals, or RFP, to present to potential buyers, should voters choose to allow the sale of the hospital.

OCH officials had an August 8th deadline to get 95% of the information to the Board, to include in the RFP.

Administrators had argued that some of the data was confidential.

In a 3 to 2 decision supervisors voted to send a letter prompting the hospital to release the needed information.

“We’re nearing the timeline for RFP respondents to finish their analysis, so we need the rest of the data to where we can finish our review, and make a determination about what information is appropriate to be released to other third parties,” said Consultant Frederick Woodrell.

Supervisors also voted to seek an appraisal for the Oktibbeha County Lake property.
