WCBI News Director

WCBI-TV in Columbus / Tupelo, Mississippi market is seeking a NEWS DIRECTOR. This person will be responsible for the overall management and direction of our newsroom and will report directly to the General Manager. We`re seeking a proven “hands-on“ leader with a minimum of three years of newsroom management experience. Assistant news directors, executive producers or assignment editors ready for the next challenge are encouraged to apply. This person will be a critical part of our management team and will focus on the daily direction of our news product including from overseeing the daily gathering, reporting and presentation of news to the hiring of staff, setting of work schedules, overseeing the news operating budget, maximizing resources to their fullest extent, and ensuring that we are putting the best possible newscasts on-the-air on a daily basis. WCBI currently produces 7 hours of news each day. We utilize DMV, drug screening & criminal background checks as a condition of employment.
