According to Brett Zwernemen of the Houston Chronicle, Ole Miss Co-defensive coordinator DJ Durkin is leaving the Rebels to become Texas A&M’s new DC. He spent the last two seasons on Lane Kiffin’s staff and in 2021 the Rebels allowed 13.3 fewer points per game compared to 2020, making them one of the top-five improved units in the FBS.

Sources tell WCBI a name to watch to replace Durkin is UAB defensive coordinator David Reeves. He spent the last five years with the Blazers and they ranked first in Conference-USA in sacks (30) points (20.1) and yards (280) allowed per game.
