ISABEL DAVIS

WCBI METEOROLOGIST

As a kid my mom and I watched the news every morning. She would read me these children’s books about all types of weather. Then in 2003 when Hurricane Isabel was headed toward my hometown, that’s when weather really started to interest me. I always knew I wanted to be on TV so doing the weather just made sense. I got the nickname “Weather Girl Izzy”, it stuck and now I’m making those dreams a reality.

I am originally from New Jersey, born and raised there my whole life until I left for college. I started out at the University of South Alabama but after 2 years there, I thought it was time for a change. I transferred to Mississippi State and immediately found my new home away from home. I am now going into my senior year, planning to graduate soon with a degree in broadcast and professional meteorology. I am involved in the East MS NWA/AMS Chapter and my sorority Alpha Delta Pi. I’m so glad to call Northeast Mississippi my home.

If I’m not in the studio, in the summer you will definitely see me at the beach or pool. Of course, I’d have to stay to watch the sunset. Or shopping, I sure do know how to spend money.
