JACKSON CHASTAIN
METEOROLOGIST
WCBI WEATHER TEAM

Jackson joined the WCBI Weather Team in September of 2021. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in Meteorology concentrating on Broadcasting with a minor in GIS at Mississippi State University, and is set to graduate in May of 2023.

He completed his undergraduate education at Texas A&M University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology as part of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2021.

Born in San Diego, California, Jackson spent the first half of his childhood living in the Chicago, Illinois area, before making the move south to live in Dallas, Texas. Having family in Starkville, a multitude of summer trips as a kid have made Northeast Mississippi a familiar and friendly place.

He’s not quite sure what the spark was, but Jackson has always been a fan of the weather, having fond memories watching the movie Twister as a kid and watching storms on the porch with his grandmother.

When Jackson isn’t giving the weather you can catch him working out at the Sanderson Center, hiking, skiing, and cheering on his Aggies, Bulldogs, and Canucks!
