Owen Basselman

Owen Basselman is originally from the Midwest, growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He headed south to follow his passion to study meteorology.
Owen is completing his senior year at Mississippi State where he is majoring in Professional Meteorology with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology. He will also graduate with a minor in Communications.
Owen participates in the East Mississippi Chapter of the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society. Prior to joining WCBI, Owen was a member of the Famous Maroon Band, playing trumpet.
Being from Cincinnati, Owen enjoys eating “Cincinnati Chili”, spaghetti topped with chili and shredded cheese. He is a fan of the local sports teams, both college and professional. In his downtime he enjoys working on puzzles, his most recent puzzle containing 5,000 pieces, and is an aviation enthusiast!
